Ramani Peruvemba, M.D. completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from New York Medical College in 1994. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital in 1998. He completed his interventional pain fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York in 1999. Since 2000, he joined Pain Management Specialists, with offices in Rockville and Frederick, Maryland. He is also a member of First Colonies Anesthesia Associates and provides anesthesia at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, Maryland as well as Frederick Memorial Hospital, in Frederick, Maryland.
Dr. Peruvemba received his Board Certification in Anesthesiology in 1999. He received added qualifications in pain management from the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2000. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, Maryland Board of Anesthesiology, and the international spinal injection society. He currently serves as President of Pain Management Specialists, a group of physicians trained in interventional pain management, who own and operate Comprehensive Pain Management Center.
Dr. Peruvemba treats a variety of chronic and acute pain disorders. His focus is on disorders of the spine. Specific areas of interest include spinal stenosis, herniated discs, complex regional pain syndrome, and post herpetic neuralgia. He has expertise in both the pharmacological and interventional treatment of pain disorders. He is well trained in all interventional pain modalities, including, epidural injections, facet injections, radiofrequency techniques, discography, implanted spinal cord stimulators and pumps, and minimally invasive disc decompression.
Dr. Peruvemba currently resides in Vienna, Virginia with his wife and son. He enjoys running, biking, swimming, basketball, and golf. He is an avid guitar player and is a member of a local music group that performs at local events.
